In addition to a strong background in online product/brand management leading divisions of national News and eCommerce sites, I have experience in marketing & promotions; interactive & video media production & design; international commercial/diplomatic contracts and sales. Online strengths focus on cross-platform user experience (i.e. from browser to mobile), eCommerce conversion and behavioral targeting with a penchant for specific and measurable contributions to the bottom-line. This is complemented by an intimate understanding of Far and Middle Eastern Cultures and all facets of the Automotive and Restaurant industries from my personal and educational backgrounds. Born in Beijing, China, and raised in the U.S. as a dual-citizen, I have studied and worked in both countries as well as Paris, France.

SPEAKER BIOS:

Ethan Applen

Ethan is Executive Director of Global Business Development at Warner Bros., and serves as Program Director of Media Camp, WB’s startup accelerator program. Within his role, Ethan focuses on driving new business partnerships, models, channels and products across the studio, and is also charged with seeking out forward looking opportunities and recommending new businesses, products and revenue streams consistent with front line innovation to support and drive company priorities.

Ethan has nearly 20 years of experience in the technology and entertainment space, having worked at multiple start-ups including imeem, Realtor.com, and The Lightspan Partnership, as well as at Fox and Touchstone Television.

Ethan earned a BA in Economics from SDSU and an MBA from USC.

Cory Klippsten

Cory Klippsten is Chief Revenue Officer of Fuisz Interactive Media, responsible for Sales, Business Development and Marketing. Cory came to Fuisz from Google, where he worked on ad sales strategy and operations.  Before Google he was a management consultant with McKinsey’s New York office and Bridge Strategy in Chicago, focused on growth strategy, sales and marketing.  Prior to earning an MBA at the University of Chicago, he worked for Microsoft Interactive Television, Ogilvy (interactive advertising), and Morgan Stanley (interactive marketing).
